Course Dates:
At the completion of this course participants should be able to:
1. Define trigger points, motor banding and neurological presentations of neuromuscular dysfunction.
2. Safely apply Dry Needling techniques for orthopaedic and neuromuscular conditions.
3. Define indications and contraindications for treatment.
4. Identify specific treatment rationales for various diagnoses.
5. Understand the research supporting the use of Dry Needling in clinical practice.
6. Have a general knowledge to apply dry needling techniques to common sporting injuries.
7. At the completion of the course participants should have a greater understanding of how our bodies/brains process pain, in both the acute and chronic settings.
8. At the completion of this course participants should have a greater understanding of how to accurately evaluate and treat common myofascial disorders of the shoulder, upper extremity and hand.GEMt provides:

- A undergraduate degree in Occupational Therapy.
- You must be a registered clinician with Professional Indemnity Insurance to enter this course.
- Course participants are required to act as subjects as required for the duration of the course.
- This course is not advisable for anyone who is pregnant (unless they are prepared to bring a friend willing to be needled on their behalf)

- Shoulder including rotator cuff
- Upper Extremity

- Long thumb muscles
- Supplies, integrating this into your practice
- Final Questions, Certification
