Entry requirements
All prospective students must complete a Pre Training Review prior to being offered an enrolment. This review identifies your suitability and appropriateness for this Nursing qualification. The Pre Training Review is designed to ensure we can help you participate in and successfully attain your desired learning outcomes.
Mandatory requirements – This qualification requires you to achieve a satisfactory result in a VETASSESS test prior to enrolment. If you have completed this elsewhere in the three months prior to course commencement, please inform Partners in Training upon enrolment. If you have not completed the VETASSESS test, you will be able to complete this through Partners in Training at the cost of $60.  
Suitability requirements – This qualification requires you to have physical attributes suitable for workplace experience within the health industry which encompasses manual handling of equipment and clients.
Materials, equipment and resources – You are required to purchase textbooks to assist with your learning process throughout this qualification. The textbooks can be purchased from Partners in Training, or you can source your own. A booklist will be provided upon enrolment. You will also be required to purchase - Partners in Training Australia emblem shirt ($40 per shirt - including GST). You will need access to a computer with Internet.

Pathways
Further study pathways – This qualification will provide you with a pathway to HLT64115 Advanced Diploma of Nursing and/or Bachelor of Nursing courses.
Employment pathways – This qualification will give you the nursing skills and knowledge required to become an Enrolled Nurse.

Course duration and mode of delivery
Full Time
This qualification will run for approximately 18 Months at 7 hours per day for 3 days per week. Included in this timeframe is 10 weeks (400 hours) of full time (5 days per week) clinical placement in appropriate health care environments. These include Aged Care facilities; Community based health care, Mental Health environments and hospitals for and Acute Care experiences.
Course breaks will include:
  • Public Holidays
  • School Holidays
  • End of Year – approximately 10 weeks
Part Time
This qualification will run for approximately 2 years at 7 hours per day per week with an extra delivery day every third week over the duration of the course. Included in this timeframe is 10 weeks (400 hours) of full time (5 days per week) clinical placement in appropriate health care environments. These include Aged Care facilities; Community based health care, Mental Health environments and hospitals for and Acute Care experiences.
Course breaks will include:
  • Public Holidays
  • End of Year – approximately 10 weeks
Assessment requirements
Your timetable sets out the specific assessments that you will be required to complete to a satisfactory standard to be deemed competent in each unit of competency.

The Student Unit Guide sets out in detail the assessment requirements for each unit of competency. At the commencement of scheduled delivery, your trainer will provide you with the Student Unit Guide for each unit of competency.
In HLTENN007 Administer and monitor medicines and intravenous therapy, you are required to achieve 100% in your medication calculations.
