Perioperative Practice BSc (Hons) Top-Up

Currently the UK’s first and only online Perioperative Practice BSc (Hons) Top-Up degree to be endorsed by the Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP), this course can help you to develop the skills and expertise needed to transform your practice as a health care professional working in a perioperative setting.

Perioperative Practice BSc (Hons) Top-Up is specifically suited for Operating Department Practitioners (ODP's), Registered Nurses (RN's), as well as other health and social care professionals and military staff working within a perioperative and theatre setting.

Transforming your practice 

This course will encourage you to think differently about the way you operate within a perioperative setting and aims to help you transform your practice, giving you the ability to inspire others and lead practice in your own area. You will focus on leadership, mentorship, research and evidence based practice, and education, covering areas that aren't sufficiently covered by pre-registration preparatory programmes.

Perioperative Practice BSc (Hons) Top-Up uses a range of inspiring case studies alongside pedagogic design and teaching staff who are experts in their field of study.

Virtual simulation and virtual patients

You will also get the chance to use virtual reality simulation, enabling you to take advantage of virtual patients who can be treated safely and effectively, allowing you to learn in a safe environment. 

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

As health and social care professional, we know that CPD is a vital part of your practice. Although undertaking CPD for your learning and reflective practice is a requirement of maintaining your professional practice, it is also an opportunity to improve the quality of your care. We offer a wide range of exiting standalone 20 credit modules that will quip you with the skills and knowledge to enhance your nursing abilities. Each module in this course is available to take part-time, online and counts towards your CPD.

Interactive and practical learning

This online learning degree is specifically designed by our expert online tutors and contains plenty of opportunities to interact with tutors and other students through online discussion forums, virtual class room sessions and more traditional forms of communication such as email and Skype.
