The Opportunity
The Older Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing Service provides comprehensive specialist care across inpatient, community and residential care settings.
You will provide clinical leadership and specialist psychiatric care for older adults experiencing complex mental illness, including behavioural and psychological symptoms associated with dementia.
Referrals are received from:

• Acute aged psychiatry inpatient units
• Community mental health and assessment teams
• Emergency departments
• Medical and surgical wards
• Residential aged-care facilities
• Intensive community treatment services

You will join an established team of Consultant Psychiatrists supported by registrars, nursing staff, allied health professionals and community-based clinicians.

About You
You will be a collaborative and experienced psychiatrist with an interest in improving outcomes for older adults living with mental illness.
Applicants must have:

• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or an equivalent specialist qualification
• Current or eligible specialist registration with AHPRA
• Qualifications permitting specialist practice in Victoria
• Strong multidisciplinary and clinical leadership capabilities
• An interest in recovery-oriented and person-centred care

Internationally trained psychiatrists with an equivalent specialist qualification and eligibility for specialist registration in Australia are encouraged to enquire.
