The Role
As a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred orthopaedic services across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and community settings.
Key responsibilities include:

• Providing specialist orthopaedic assessment, treatment and management
• Conducting consultant-led outpatient clinics
• Managing elective and emergency orthopaedic presentations
• Providing specialist consultation services to the Emergency Department and inpatient teams
• Supporting community-based orthopaedic services
• Participating in clinical governance, quality improvement, teaching and research activities
• Contributing to the education and supervision of junior medical staff and medical students

The service provides comprehensive orthopaedic care for both adults and paediatric patients, including:

• Upper and lower limb conditions
• Hip and knee disorders
• Major joint pathology
• Fracture management and trauma care
• Sports and acute injuries
• Back and musculoskeletal conditions
• Pre-operative and post-operative orthopaedic care

Essential Requirements
To be successful you will have:

• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Orthopaedic Surgery or be assessed by RACS as Substantially Comparable
• Eligibility for specialist registration with AHPRA
• Demonstrated expertise in Orthopaedic Surgery
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and high-quality patient care
• Experience in teaching, mentoring and clinical supervision
• Interest in research, quality improvement and service development
