An attractive permanent opportunity is available for a General Medicine Physician seeking an excellent remuneration package, diverse clinical practice and an affordable coastal lifestyle.
Based in a thriving coastal city with easy access to beaches, national parks and the Southern Great Barrier Reef, this role offers genuine opportunities to help shape an expanding medical service.

The growing regional hospital provides emergency care, general medicine, surgery, maternity, paediatrics, HDU and coronary care, orthopaedics, palliative care, imaging and pathology, with plans for further expansion. This is an excellent time to join the department and contribute to the continued development of General Medicine services across the region.

The opportunity
You will provide specialist General Medicine services across acute and inpatient settings while contributing to:

• Clinical leadership and multidisciplinary patient care
• Supervision and education of trainees, junior doctors and medical students
• Clinical governance, patient safety and quality improvement
• Outreach and telehealth services across the wider region
• Research, teaching and academic medicine
• The current 1:3 after-hours consultant on-call roster

The department supports RACP Basic Physician Training and Work-Based Assessment for international medical graduates.

Remuneration and benefits
A total remuneration package of up to $572,732 per annum is available, including:

• 12.75% employer superannuation

Essential requirements
Applicants should hold:

• Specialist registration, or eligibility for specialist registration, with AHPRA
• FRACP in General Medicine or an equivalent recognised specialist qualification
• Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality General Medicine services
• A commitment to clinical leadership, education and continuous improvement
