LATEST COVID-19 DEVELOPMENTS:

* Australia has enjoyed another day without a locally acquired COVID-19 case as doctors prepare to administer millions of vaccinations.

* General practitioners will be part of the rollout from March 22, when older and vulnerable Australians can get the virus jab from their local doctor.

* Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk defended the pace of its rollout as the first two AstraZeneca hubs opened in Logan and Bundaberg on Monday.

* Another five people in hotel quarantine tested positive for coronavirus in Queensland as the number of active cases in the state swelled to 30.

* All five new cases arrived from Papua New Guinea, which is reporting a very high coronavirus infection rate.

* NSW reached a significant milestone, notching 50 days without recording a single case of the virus in the community.

* The state recorded one new case in a returned traveller isolating in hotel quarantine from 10,092 tests in the 24 hours until 8pm on Sunday.

* Victoria recorded 10 days without a locally acquired COVID-19 case as it readies to administer its first AstraZeneca vaccines.

* From Victoria's 9993 test results in the 24 hours to Monday, an airline worker in hotel quarantine was the only new infection detected.

* Western Australia also recorded two new cases, both quarantined travellers. There are seven active cases in the state.

* South Australia, Tasmania, the Northern Territory and Australian Capital Territory were all virus-free.


AUSTRALIAN CORONAVIRUS NUMBERS:
* Australia recorded no new locally acquired cases of the coronavirus on Monday. There were nine cases recorded in hotel quarantine: five in Queensland, two in WA and one each in Victoria and NSW.

* The national death toll is 909: Victoria 820, NSW 56, Tasmania 13, WA 9, Queensland 6, SA 4, ACT 3 (Two Queensland residents who died in NSW have been included in the official tolls of both states).


GLOBAL CORONAVIRUS NUMBERS:

* Cases: at least 116,830,000

* Deaths: at least 2,593,000

* Recovered: at least 66,132,000.
