  • Bring a little "e" into your clinical practice: using Australia's online mental health resources.

    Author: HealthTimes

Over the last 15 years, the field of e-mental health has expanded rapidly and many websites, programs and online counselling services are now available to the public. Australia is acknowledged as an international leader in developing, testing and deploying these resources and has a particularly rich array of resources available.

Allied health practitioners and primary care nurses are increasingly expected to be able to guide their patients towards safe and effective websites and programs, especially if they work with young people.

There is now great interest in integrating e-mental health resources into primary health care and the Australian Government has commissioned the eMHPrac project to support the use of online tools in routine care (see http://www.emhprac.org.au). The ANU’s eMHPrac team is working with allied health, nurses and peer workers to provide training and other resources.

If you’d like to find out more about e-mental health, please see the resources and workshops here: http://nimhr.anu.edu.au/research/projects/emhprac
You will also see eMHPrac stalls at conferences, where you can access promotional material, see demonstrations of programs and sign up for training.
