The executive director of Queensland's largest hospital is the latest health chief to depart from Brisbane's metro north health service.
The executive director of Queensland's largest hospital has abruptly left the job, sparking questions.
Dr Tony Sara, who heads the Australian Salaried Medical Officers Federation, says the executive director of the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital was escorted off the premises without notice.
Professor Keshwar Baboolal was appointed executive director last year, and reappointed in August.
The Metro North Hospital and Health Service confirmed Prof Baboolal's departure in a statement, but has not offered an explanation.
Dr Sara has told the ABC transparency appears to be a thing of the past at the hospital, and says an explanation must be given.
Prof Baboolal's departure comes soon after the suspension on full pay of the hospital and health service's chief executive Malcolm Stamp and its executive director of corporate services and performance Scott McMullen.
In September, Health Minister Lawrence Springborg said the matter involving the two men had been referred to the Crime and Corruption Commission, but said he could not provide other details for legal reasons.
AAP has sought comment from the Mr Springborg.
