    Author: AAP

A male nurse has been suspended for eight months after sexually harassing female colleagues.

Stephan Harris harassed four women at a hospital in rural Victoria between about 2015 and 2019, The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal found.

Claims against Mr Harris included pinching one woman as she squatted down to be part of a group photo.

"After the photo was taken I got up and someone pinched me from behind on the butt, but the grab was more towards my vagina," the woman said.

"I felt physically ill when I realised it was Steve who pinched me."

He was also accused of grabbing colleagues' armpits, tickling them, contacting them outside of work hours and slapping one woman.

"It was a reasonably hard slap, I think on my left butt cheek...I was stunned," the woman said.

"Stephan had never done anything like that before. It was out of nowhere, completely random."

Harris was suspended from the hospital in mid 2019 while allegations were under investigation and resigned in November that year.

He then started working at a different health service in January 2020 from which he resigned in May 2023 and is now unemployed.

On Friday, the tribunal ordered his nursing registration be suspended for eight months and imposed other conditions such as training and mentoring requirements.

His behaviour was serious, unsolicited, unwelcome and uninvited, the tribunal found.

Legal documents show Mr Harris' lawyer claimed he thought he was having fun with colleagues at the time but has since written letters of apology and "feels terrible".

However, the tribunal found there was little evidence of Mr Harris having developed insight or remorse.
