-Graduate Certificate takes first person approach to supporting children with autism in the classroom-

In response to increasing prevalence of autism  in children and demand from employers in the education system for educators with the specialist knowledge and skills to support children with autism , Torrens University Australia has launched a new national Graduate Certificate in Education (Autism) for educators.

Applications to the new online program are open now and the first enrolment will take place in February 2017.

Information about the new program:

- The Graduate Certificate in Education (Autism) was launched in 2016 in response to demand that had been identified by Torrens University Australia for more educators to be equipped with the skills developed in this program.
- One of Torrens University Australia’s unique points of difference is that it offers programs of study across a range of study areas, including education, that have been shown to be in demand by employers and will continue to be required into the future.

- The program allows current educators to develop advanced knowledge to help analyse issues and challenges in education settings. From there, graduates of the program will be able to better support individuals with Autism by recommending changes to the classroom approach as well as in education policy.

- The Graduate Certificate in Education (Autism) is also suitable for existing educators wishing to move into consulting on education policy and practice, with many opportunities arising for individuals to offer advice on education strategy as independent contractors to education departments and schools.
